Colorado Buffaloes Football: 2024 Season Preview

2023 Season Recap

The Colorado Buffaloes had a disappointing 2023 season, finishing with a record of 1-11. The team struggled on both sides of the ball, ranking near the bottom of the FBS in both offensive and defensive efficiency. Heading into 2024, the Buffaloes are hoping to rebound and return to bowl eligibility.

2024 Schedule

The Buffaloes have a challenging schedule in 2024, with seven games against teams that finished with a winning record in 2023. The season opens with a tough road game against the Michigan Wolverines, followed by a home game against the Oregon Ducks. Colorado also has a non-conference game against the Colorado State Rams and a crossover game against the Utah Utes.

Key Players

The Buffaloes have several key players returning in 2024, including quarterback JT Shrout, running back Alex Fontenot, and wide receiver Jordyn Tyson. Shrout is a talented passer who threw for over 2,500 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2023. Fontenot is a shifty running back who rushed for over 1,000 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2023. Tyson is a big-play receiver who caught 12 touchdown passes in 2023.

Outlook

The Buffaloes have the potential to be a much better team in 2024. They have a talented quarterback in Shrout, a solid running game led by Fontenot, and a number of playmakers on defense. If they can stay healthy and avoid the injuries that plagued them in 2023, they should be able to compete for a bowl game.
